Happy Holidays

So much has gone on; Thanks to everyone who has hung in there through it all and supported everything we've done. As the year comes to yet another close we get ready to kick off another year loaded with cool cars, awesome cruises, and just great people. Merry Christmas everyone, and have a very happy and safe New Year. We will see you in 2008 - Can't wait to see what the new year has in store for us all. Updates!

I know, its been awhile, but if you feel you've been out of the loop then you need to sign up on our forums! This is where everything is planned and discussed - Its the hot place to be! C'mon, everyone's doing it. Sign up now! Apart from that, not too much has gone on. Since the last news update here we've had our annual CAR trip to Mt. Charleston, enjoyed the Boulder City Wurstfest, explored Super Run, and of course this past weekend cruised up to Overton for the 9th Annual "Thank Goodness Its Fall" festival - Be sure to check out the photos of this and more over on our photos page (thanks to everyone who shares the pics with us these days). Coming up this weekend is our annual Halloween party, then we're already into November. Seems like time just flew by this year, but we'll be rolling strong for 2008. 4th Annual CARs @ Mt. Charleston

It won't be long before it's that time of year again; Time for our annual 'Chillin at Charleston!' The dates have been set and the sites have been booked (huge thanks to Brian once again for setting that up) so make sure your weekend is free September 14th & 15th -- thats right, we've extended this trip to a full weekend of family fun, CAR talk, and just an overall good time. Because of space on this one we really do ask that you just RSVP on the main thread by clicking here. This is probably everyones favorite cruise each year so make sure you're a part of it - we'd love to have you!

C.A.R. 4th of July BBQ

Mark your calendars for June 30th to join Classics And Rods for an all-expense paid old-fashioned family fun filled little get-together picnic BBQ shindig. . thing. Know what I'm sayin? All are welcome! Just bring your classic (if possible), and join in on the fun with the whole family. THE AWESOME SHOW SEASON IS ROLLING AROUND THE BEND!

GREASER’S ROD and KUSTOM REUNION!

Greaser’s show is going to be ruling the Charlie Holder’s Casino parking lot (920 S Boulder Hwy, Henderson, 89015) all day on Saturday, April 7th! A pre cruise will be there as well on Friday, from 4p to 8pm. For those of you wanting to leave your cars they will have security there to protect your Classics and Rods, and for any perp wanting to test the waters, they will be greeted with a good ‘ol “Kustom RUMBLE!”
Classics and Rods will be meeting at the usual Sonic Drive In, on 300 South Boulder HWY, on April 7th. Its just about a mile away from Charlie Holder’s. We will leave Sonic around 8am to head up and snag some good spots.

HENDERSON DAYS CAR SHOW!

Here is another good one to roll up on. Saturday April 21st from 9am to 4pm Downtown Henderson closes the streets off to these modern metric-mobiles and you are taken back to the days when every car had steel bumpers and chrome and all the AM radios blasted Wolfman Jack. Henderson rolls back to its Heritage Days with a good ol’ chuckwagon breakfast in the morning, chili cook off in the afternoon and finally rounding the day’s end will be a Wonder of the West parade and car show award ceremony. The car show event continues the whole day.

Vally of Fire Cruise

Time to cruise through the VALLEY OF FIRE, Saturday March 24th. We have slated a date and started a menu, so head on over to the thread by clicking here to stay updated on this event. Us Henderson folk will cruise up to the North Vegas area and meet up with everyone at the gas station on Craig and 15. From here we will roll out together and head out to the Valley of Fire to hang out and BBQ. Hope to see as many cars as we can!

Dam Cruise in February

If you're familiar with us here at Classics And Rods you should know that next in line is our Hoover Dam cruise we do each year. What we do is first cruise to the Boulder Dam Hotel for a nice breakfast and then ride across the Dam where we park on the Arizona side to have some drinks, get some pictures, and just have a good time for awhile. Preliminary discussion has just begun so please let us know when you can make it by clicking here and laying down a post in our forums - This helps us pick the best Saturday for the majority of our members. Remember though, as with most events we do, EVERYONE is welcome to join in with us! If you're part of another club or just want to go out for a nice Saturday morning cruise then by all means feel free to meet up with us that morning and join in -- and tell your friends! Please read and keep an eye on the thread there in the forums as day / time and all other details are ironed out. See you all then!

January Picnic

As CAR tradition follows we will be having a gathering at a local park on Jan. 20th at about noon / 1pm. Anyone and everyone is invited to join us so if you're reading this feel free to bring out your classic rod and join the fun. The place is the W Wayne Bunker Family Park on Alexander between Tenaya and Buffalo.. not far from US95. For a map and complete details please check out the thread on our forums here. Incase of bad weather conditions as we get closer to the 20th please keep checking back incase we have to reschedule though current forecasts show it should be a decent day. There will be food and drinks and any other snacks you guys might bring. Looking forward to meeting more enthusiasts -- see you there!

We just wanted to tell everyone to have a wonderful and safe New Year from all of us here at Classics And Rods. 2006 was a very eventful year for the club and we're stronger than ever with the greatest people and dedication in town. Thanks to everyone who made it what it was, and we look forward to even more in 2007!
